Here’s how to browse Niches, add your uploads, create your own Niche, and manage where your content appears.
WHAT ARE REDGIFS NICHES?
Niches are communities built around shared interests. Viewers can browse a Niche to find content they’re interested in and discover new creators.
For creators, adding uploads to relevant Niches gives viewers another way to find you without already knowing your username.

HOW TO BROWSE NICHES
Head to the Niches page to explore, or use the search bar at the top of any RedGIFs page to find Niches that match your interests.
Open a Niche to browse its content. If you find a post you like, visit the creator’s profile to see more of their uploads and follow them.
If you’re a creator, browsing is also a useful way to find suitable Niches for your own content. Read each Niche’s description and rules before adding your uploads.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR NICHES
Each upload can be added to a maximum of five Niches, but you don’t need to use all five. Focus on the Niches that accurately match that specific piece of content.
Before adding a post:
- Read the description and rules. Make sure your upload fits what the Niche allows.
- Browse the existing content. This can help you understand the Niche’s focus.
- Choose based on the upload. A Niche that suits one of your videos might not suit another.
- Prioritize relevance over size. A large Niche isn’t automatically the best place for your content.
Think about what a viewer expects to find when they open that Niche. If your upload matches that expectation, it’s a stronger fit.
HOW TO ADD YOUR CONTENT TO NICHES
You can add Niches when uploading new content or editing an existing post.
- Open your upload or edit the post.
- Make sure its visibility is set to Public.
- Select up to five relevant Niches.
- Publish your new post or save the changes to your existing post.
Niches only apply to public, published content. Draft posts don’t retain Niche selections, so add your Niches when you’re ready to publish.
Editing or re-saving your Tags can also reset your Niche selections. After updating Tags, check that your chosen Niches are still selected before publishing or saving.

HOW TO CREATE YOUR OWN NICHE
Can’t find a Niche for the content you have in mind? You can submit one for review.
Go to the Niches page, click Create Niche, and add:
- Niche name
- Description
- Rules
- Avatar
- Banner
Your submission will be reviewed by the RedGIFs moderation team. You’ll receive an email when it’s approved or if changes are needed.
Before submitting, check the current Niche creation and management rules. These include:
- Niches can’t be based on specific individuals.
- Niches shouldn’t duplicate existing Tags.
- Niche titles and descriptions can’t include advertising or soliciting.
- All submitted content must match the Niche’s theme.
- You can create and moderate up to five Niches at a time.
- Don’t spam Niches with excessive or repetitive posts.
- Niches that are inactive for 30 days will be deleted.
Creating a Niche also means taking responsibility for keeping its content relevant and following the platform’s rules.
HOW TO REMOVE CONTENT FROM A NICHE
Verified creators can remove their own uploads from any Niche they appear in, including Niches someone else added them to. Niche creators can remove content from the Niches they created.
To remove content:
- Open the post.
- Click the three-dot menu.
- Select Change Niches.
- Deselect the Niche you want to remove.
- Click Save.
This lets you remove your uploads from Niches that don’t accurately represent your content.
