Tell us about yourself!

I’m Elaina St James, I turn 59 in May 2026! In many ways I am a very typical single middle-aged Mom. In 2021 working a dead-end job, struggling to make ends meet I discovered the world of online adult content creation. Within three months I was making enough money that I quit my office job and never looked back. This major change at 54 has helped give me financial security and my son a better life. I have done things I never thought I would, but staying independent gives me the control that I love. In large part because of my age, I have been featured in many mainstream publications such as People Magazine, USA Today, US Weekly, Business Insider, and even TMZ which ran a story about me being the oldest person ever to have my very own Fleshlight sex toy! The press has given me many monikers through the year, but the latest is The Internet’s Favorite Mom-Next-Door and I’ll take it. In many ways I am just a neighborhood Mom with an unconventional business. In the last 5 years I have pushed myself to do new things – a podcast, two books, a line of merchandise, an AI ChatBot and spicy collaborating with other content creators and porn stars. It’s really been quite a ride, but I’m not done yet!

How long have you been in the Adult industry?

April 2026 marked my official 5 years. I had lived a very conservative, relationship focused life but in 2021 I found myself single, working a job that was stable for my role as a Mom but I was filled with anxiety about money.  I realistically feared I would never be able to really retire when I read a story in People about OnlyFans. It sounded too good to be true – to work from home, making sexy content, but being in control.  I knew nothing about social media but I did a deep dive and 6 weeks later I was on Instagram, Twitter/X, and OnlyFans.  I was testing the water and in my first month I made almost the same money as I was making working my full time office job. Two months later I was doing it full-time.

Aside from RedGIFs, what platforms are you active on?

I actually try to be active on as many as makes sense. Reddit of course, many Instagrams, a handful of X profiles, a Facebook, TikTok, Threads, Clapper, and then all my subscription and clip sites (OnlyFans, Fansly, LoyalVids, ManyVids).

What’s one thing you wish you would have been told when starting your journey in this industry?

Be prepared for a rollercoaster with sudden twists – you might be on top of the world one month and then things like lost social accounts or shadowbanning can happen and you will find yourself struggling not to slip further.  It is so hard on your mental health. I would also tell myself to be prepared to be lonely as family and friends, even those that you think are open minded, will disappear.  “Friends” you make in the industry are only friends as long as you can help them. It’s a tough business filled with insecurity and ego.

What do you love most about RedGIFs?

I love the variety and the “magic” of posting and never knowing how many people will see what I do. There is no shadowbanning, just creativity. I love being able to upload and copy the link for Reddit. It’s so easy!

What is your favorite thing about being an Adult Content Creator?

Freedom and control of what I produce and the financial nest egg I have created. I love the independence and that I can mix working with experiences – especially travel. I also love knowing I am showing up, being a visible example that a person doesn’t have to disappear in middle age. I was brought up hearing that a woman becomes invisible after 40, and I am proving that wrong every day. Changing my life at 54, inspiring others, that is so gratifying.

What’s your favorite type of content to create, and why?

Travel. Without question, exploring new places, new backgrounds is exhilarating. My dream job would be a SFW travel show with a small crew exploring the world and sharing the variety with my fans. On the spicier side, I like authentic adult content. Roleplay can be fun and silly, which I enjoy – the absurdity of fantasy situations, but my favorite is more genuine and real.

What does a typical day look like for you as a creator?

It’s a lot more boring than I want people to think! I am a mom first, so it’s basic taking care of the human and furkids.  Then it’s checking fan sites and posting on the socials. Then there are the content days where I post on the socials a bit less, and my focus is making video clips of different levels of spice and photos. The following day or two is editing and then transferring to keep in my hard drive library. I do everything myself so its time intensive. Then there are the days I record a podcast or a video for sale though those are less common. Some days are filled with pitching stories to the media. Some days are focused on accounting and taxes. Sprinkled in I am scrolling through social media for ideas on outfits and trends and shopping for wardrobe and props. I am rarely not thinking about creating content. I really should be taking more time to step away, but I feel I have to work as hard as I can while I can.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that your fans might not know

When I turned 40 (before becoming a mom) I went sky-diving. 10,000 feet up, free fall tandem jump, it was really something, but once was enough!

What advice would you give to other creators who are just getting started?

Buy my book, Second Act Success System on Amazon! I really poured everything I have learned into that book. But if they don’t want to buy a book, I would say, give a lot of thought about what you are willing to lose to get into this business. Think about a brand – do you have a niche? What is special, what is different about you that you can lean into, but make sure it is authentically a part of you. Really think about the fact that you will likely lose people in your life that you are close to right now. Doors for opportunities will open but some may close. Test the waters safely at first. There is no guarantee you will be successful and no guarantee that even after you have amazing success that you will keep riding that wave. Be prepared for it to be a rollercoaster.

What are your goals or dreams for the next year as a creator?

For the next year my goal is about moving. In the current climate where adult work is being targeted, moving to a safer state for adult content creators is my priority. Once that is done, I hope to do more collaborations, as over the last year I have put that on hold. I want to give myself more time for me – just me as a human being. My dreams always include travel. I would like to visit Spain in the next year!
